Great production teams need leaders who get involved, bring out the best in people and keep things moving.
We’re recruiting a Production Team Leader to take ownership of a designated area within a food manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on role where you’ll lead your team, solve day-to-day challenges and ensure products are made safely, efficiently and to the right standard.
If you’re an experienced Team Leader, Line Leader or Production Supervisor who enjoys developing people and improving performance, this could be your next move.
Your role
Reporting to the Shift Manager, you’ll organise your team and resources to deliver the daily production plan. You’ll keep a close eye on progress, tackle problems as they arise and work with Engineering, Technical and Hygiene colleagues to keep the operation running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing your team, delivering clear shift briefings, setting expectations and supporting training. Allocating people effectively according to their skills and production priorities. Monitoring output, identifying bottlenecks and reducing downtime. Improving product yield, reducing waste and making efficient use of labour and materials. Maintaining food safety, quality and hygiene standards, including HACCP and GMP requirements. Ensuring production records, traceability checks and quality documentation are accurate and complete. Promoting safe working practices and acting promptly on hazards or concerns. Providing clear shift handovers and following through on outstanding actions. Encouraging ideas from your team and turning them into practical improvements. What we’re looking for
You’ll bring experience in food manufacturing, alongside the ability to organise, motivate and support a production team.
We’re particularly interested in someone who has:
Previous experience as a Production Team Leader, Line Leader or Production Supervisor, or relevant experience stepping up to lead a team. A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards. A practical approach to solving problems and making decisions. Confidence addressing performance concerns fairly and professionally. An understanding of production targets, waste, yield and efficiency. Strong communication skills and a commitment to helping colleagues develop. Experience within high-risk or low-risk food production environments would be particularly relevant.
You’ll have the opportunity to make a visible difference—to the performance of your area and the people working within it.
