We are seeking an experienced Production Test Technician to support the manufacture, testing and integration of electrical and electronic control cabinets supplied into naval and defence programmes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting functional, electrical and fault-finding activities on production assemblies and control systems, ensuring all products meet customer specifications, quality standards and programme delivery requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Conduct testing, inspection and commissioning of electrical and electronic control cabinets. Carry out functional testing in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications and test procedures. Perform electrical safety testing including continuity, insulation resistance and earth bonding checks. Diagnose and rectify faults at system, sub-assembly and component level. Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation. Record test results and complete all associated quality documentation. Support root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to production and test failures. Liaise with Production, Engineering and Quality departments to resolve technical issues. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company procedures and applicable defence industry standards. Support product improvements and continuous improvement activities. Maintain calibration awareness of test equipment and ensure a safe working environment at all times.
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in a Production Test Technician, Electrical Test Technician or Commissioning Technician role. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on electrical and electronic systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams. Experience using a range of test equipment including: Digital Multimeters Insulation Resistance Testers (Meggers) Oscilloscopes Power Supplies Continuity Test Equipment Understanding of electrical control systems and control panel assemblies. Experience working within a manufacturing, defence, marine, aerospace or highly regulated engineering environment. Good understanding of electrical safety procedures. Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in: Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Electro-Mechanical EngineeringOR
Relevant military, marine or defence technical training with demonstrable industry experience.
