Programme Support Officer

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of Milton Keynes City Council for a Programme Support Officer within the Highways Service.

The role is 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working (4 days on-site across Civic Offices and Synergy Park, 1 day remote), and £25 per hour umbrella, with an initial contract length of 3 months+. Please see a high-level overview of what the position involves below:

* Supporting the delivery of a £20m Highways Capital Programme through effective programme coordination and reporting

* Managing project information, governance processes, risks, actions and programme data

* Producing reports, board packs and management information for stakeholders at all levels, including senior management

* Maintaining accurate programme records across Excel, SharePoint and other council systems

* Managing and coordinating requests received through the service inbox

* Building strong relationships with engineers, project managers, operational teams and senior stakeholders to gather information and ensure deadlines are met

* Supporting the continual improvement of reporting processes and reporting tools

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

* Programme Support Officer, PMO Officer, Project Support Officer, Project Coordinator or similar roles

* Project governance, reporting, risk and issue management

* Strong Excel, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams skills

* Producing reports, board packs and management information

* Managing multiple stakeholders and building effective working relationships (essential)

* Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills

* Previous experience within Local Government
