Medical Assistant, EMT or LPN – Podiatry – 0.9 FTE

If you like hands-on patient care, procedures and working closely with a provider, Podiatry offers a lot of variety. ProHealth Care’s podiatrists care for patients with everything from fractures, sprains and tendon injuries to bunions, arthritis, heel pain and other foot and ankle conditions. Treatment can include orthotics and bracing, office-based procedures and surgical care, giving you the opportunity to build specialized skills while seeing a wide range of patient needs.

You’ll work closely with our podiatrists throughout the patient visit. Along with traditional clinical support responsibilities, this position includes some light scribe work in room with the physician assisting with documenting details of the visit in Epic. 

Schedule

0.9 FTE – 36 hours per week, full-time benefits eligible

Monday: Pewaukee, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Pewaukee, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Wednesday: Sussex, 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Thursday: 7:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., alternating between Sussex and Waukesha/Big Bend

What you’ll do

• Room and prepare patients for Podiatry appointments.


• Obtain vital signs, complete medication reconciliation and health histories, and document patient information in Epic.


• Enter the patient room with the physician and assist with documenting details of the visit in the electronic medical record.


• Complete chart preparation for the physician before patient visits.


• Set up for minor procedures as needed.


• Coordinate diagnostic testing, referrals, prescriptions and follow-up appointments.


• Prepare after-visit summaries and educate patients on provider instructions, after-visit care and treatment plans.


• Assist with occasional phone calls, test results and surgery scheduling.


• Maintain exam rooms and supplies while supporting efficient clinic flow.


• Assist with ordering supplies, medications and orthotics as needed.

What you’ll need

• Medical Assistant, EMT or LPN qualifications appropriate for position 


• Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.


• Comfort working in Epic and scribing visits


• Ability to work closely with providers and patients in a busy specialty practice.


• Previous medical scribe, real-time clinical documentation or specialty clinic experience is a plus.
