Project Design Engineer

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to join a leading Machinery Manufacturer to the FMCG industry.

As a technical coordinator for engineering projects, this role involves ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of engineering packages. Reporting to the lead engineer, you will serve as the primary contact for all engineering aspects related to assigned projects, ensuring comprehensive support and coordination throughout.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, possessing strong skills in 3D modelling and 2D drafting within sheet metal businesses – ideally someone who has worked with industrial ovens. The candidate should be an effective communicator, proficient in using ERP systems, and capable of collaborating with various departments to achieve project goals.

Day to day activities include:
Ensure the on-time and accurate release of all engineering data for assigned projects.
Serve as the main point of contact for all engineering aspects on projects.
Collaborate with lead engineers to manage design engineers/draughtspersons in creating 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and BOMs.
Liaise with Project Management and Sales teams for new and existing orders.
Create general arrangement drawings for customer approval.

In return you’ll receive a salary up to £48k, the equivalent of 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays + Discretionary Bonus. The client has an excellent order book and will be looking to expand the team and promote within where possible.
