The Role
We are seeking a Project / Design Engineer (Mechanical biased) to support the design and delivery of automated handling systems and mechanical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engineering designs, manufacturing drawings, and technical documentation while working closely with project teams, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers.

Key Responsibilities
Produce 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor. Design mechanical handling equipment, conveyor systems, steel structures, and sheet metal components. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Review project specifications and ensure designs meet customer requirements. Support manufacturing and installation teams by resolving technical queries. Participate in project meetings and design reviews. Attend occasional site visits and surveys as required.
Skills & Experience Required
5+ years of experience in mechanical design, manufacturing, automation, material handling, or a related engineering environment. Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Experience using 2D and 3D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD and/or Inventor. Ability to produce engineering drawings and technical documentation. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Organised with strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
