Data Centre Project Director

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the delivery of large-scale Data Centre projects from concept through commissioning and client handover. The role will be responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, commercially successful delivery of mission-critical facilities for hyperscale, cloud, colocation and telecommunications clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead the full lifecycle delivery of Data Centre projects, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

* Manage project safety, quality, budget, schedule and commercial performance.

* Oversee critical infrastructure systems including:

* HV/LV power distribution

* Generators and UPS systems

* Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

* Cooling plants and HVAC systems

* BMS and EPMS platforms

* Fire protection and security systems

* Lead commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) activities.

* Manage interfaces with clients, utilities, vendors, contractors and operational teams.

* Drive project risk management, change control and contract compliance.

* Ensure delivery against uptime, resiliency, sustainability and operational requirements.

* Lead, mentor and develop multi-disciplinary project teams.

* Support bid, proposal and business development activities.

Requirements

* 12+ years' experience delivering major engineering, construction or EPC projects.

* 5+ years' experience delivering hyperscale, colocation or mission-critical Data Centre projects.

* Proven track record delivering projects valued at £100M+.

* Experience managing critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

* Strong commissioning and start-up leadership experience.

* Demonstrated delivery of at least two large-scale Data Centre projects.

* Excellent client-facing, commercial and stakeholder management skills.

* Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.

* PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.
