Help Shape the Future of Britain's Railway
Rail Delivery Group (RDG) partners with Britain’s train operators to put customers at the heart of everything we do, delivering essential services and dedicated experts who keep the nation’s railway running efficiently.
From journey information, reservations and Railcards to improving performance, safety and accessibility, we drive the services and people that keep the railway moving. Anyone who has travelled by train or booked a journey for friends or family, will have used our services. We are integral to the running of the railway and play a crucial part at every stage of the customer journey – making sure we are delivering a better railway for all our customers, now and in the future.
As we embark on a new era for rail, we are now looking for a Project Manager to join us. If you are motivated by meaningful work and want to play a role in the future of Britain's railway, we'd love to hear from you!
What is the purpose of this job?
To support the Government's railway reform agenda, Rail Delivery Group (RDG) is transitioning into Great British Railways (GBR). This role will support the delivery of that transition, working alongside a PMO team comprising a Senior Programme Manager and a Senior Project Manager.
The post holder will be responsible for providing project management support across the programme's workstreams, helping to drive delivery while ensuring that plans, dependencies, risks and issues are effectively managed and maintained.
The role is critical to supporting effective stakeholder engagement at workstream level, maintaining delivery momentum, and providing input into the integrated cross-workstream plan managed by the PMO.
Operating within a multi-organisational environment, the role will work closely with a range of sector partners and stakeholders to support successful programme delivery.
Project management at RDG is about the balance between driving delivery and being an inspiring leader who forges strong working relationships. As a Project Manager at RDG your role is to work across project teams, operational teams and a range of stakeholders to successfully deliver projects to time, scope and budget with risks and dependencies recognised and managed. This will involve employing both project management tools and techniques and excellent people skills.
