The Role
This role will see you working in our Air Mission-Led Innovation Integrated Deliver Team working within either of our Crewed Aviation, Uncrewed Aviation or Strategic Test Facility portfolios depending on customer demand.

Day-to-day, you will be responsible for leading multiple projects from initial business or customer engagement through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

You will provide effective project leadership, while managing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure commitments are met and risks are effectively managed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivery of multiple projects to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction


• Pro-active Stakeholder management and relationship building


• Support the IDT with Follow-On Sales to support QinetiQ growth ambitions


• Open, accurate and timely project reporting, both to internal management and external customers


• Delivery of the project outputs, to agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales)

Essential experience of the Project Manager: 

• 1-3 years of experience within a Project Management environment


• Ideally from a heavy regulated industry background such as Defence or Aerospace


• Requires proven track record in delivering technical projects, dealing with demanding timescales, uncertainty and risk


• Experience of delivering the breadth of project management methodologies (waterfall, agile and hybrid) is advantageous

Essential qualifications for the Project Manager:

• APM PMQ, Prince2

This role is 37 hours per week based at Boscombe Down with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

Boscombe Down

MOD Boscombe Down is a unique operational site featuring the longest military runway in the UK. Primarily focusing on providing testing, evaluation and support services for aviation and aerospace systems. Renowned for its extensive flight-testing capabilities the site plays a vital role in the UK’s aviation defence contributing to the development, testing and airworthiness of military aircraft enhancing operational readiness and effectiveness.
