Beyond Data
Role purpose This is an early hire for a young, fast-growing consultancy. We're looking for someone that is adaptable and driven that wants to grow with our business and have a strong say in how we shape the company.
Work with our expert delivery, data and analytics consultants to help customers deliver more value from their data. This will be a key role in the delivery team and will guide the ongoing definition of our ways of working and the delivery of great outcomes for our customers.
Day-to-day work will involve project delivery and collaborating with stakeholders across our internal and customer teams. Work will include scope, planning, mobilising, managing and reporting on projects that cover machine learning, data platform, and advanced analytics solutions for our customers - built with modern tools across the open source and cloud platform landscape.
You'll have to get stuck into overseeing the projects assigned to you and influencing the successful outcome for our customers.
You will act as a champion and subject-matter expert for our ways of working across the business, helping to cross-skill and upskill others.
Furthermore, you will also be heavily involved in the outreach and knowledge sharing that Hypercube does. We strongly believe that giving back to the community is an important part of our purpose and the best way to learn. We will help you grow your brand through speaking, blogging, or other outreach methods should you wish.
Accountabilities Manage the relationship with the customer and all stakeholders Deliver assigned projects in line with established KPIs Quality of delivery is aligned to customer expectations and satisfied objectives defined at the outset of the project, e.g. performance/functionality Define the scope of each project to which you are assigned Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for successful execution of projects Develop a detailed project plan to track progress using established tools and processes, e.g. DevOps Time estimating – ensure the estimated date of completion is accurate Cost estimating – ensure the estimated cost to complete is accurate Management of project budgets Managing Risks and Issues (RAID logs per project) Monitoring progress and reporting on it via agreed channels and to established timelines Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs Escalating to management where the success of the project is at risk Produce high-quality communications, documentation, and presentations of solutions for colleagues and customers Contribute to Hypercube’s blog and other outreach efforts Work with the business development team to shape and win new projects Help to grow both our internal knowledge and skill sets as we scale.
Technical skills We understand that this list is extensive – please apply if you fit some or only part of it we're flexible and are mostly looking for bright people who can adapt as the role grows. We want to see the broadest range of possible candidates from a diverse mix of backgrounds. Technical skills are only part of the equation.
Ideally, you will have hands-on experience with the following in a previous role: Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong working knowledge of PMP / PRINCE II - certification desirable Experience of working using Agile frameworks such as Kanban or Scrum Understanding and integrating appropriate project management tools and processes Planning skills, including ability to define and fulfil tasks and schedules to an established business rhythm Negotiation, for example, regarding, budgets, schedules, scope creep, and the use of resources Commercial acumen as applied to financial profile and management of projects and their relationship to the wider business.
Additional experience with the following would be beneficial, but not essential: MS Office (esp. PowerPoint, Word and Excel), Azure DevOps, JIRA Team Management Leadership Conflict management Decision-making Effective listening.
Other desirable skills and experience Experience within the Energy sector Experience of working to delivery data related projects.
