Location: Cardiff (one day per week onsite)
Salary: Up to £65,000
We are seeking an IT Project Manager with a strong background in utilities to join our client. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering IT solutions in a regulated industry and managing projects in a largely outsourced environment. This role requires working at all levels of the organisation, handling multiple requirements and stakeholders, and influencing key decision-making to ensure timely project delivery.
Day to Day of the role:
Take ownership of IT projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget.
Collaborate with IT Team colleagues to review business requirements and match them to appropriate solutions.
Manage external tender selection events with our procurement team, as required.
Support investment sign-off by shaping project business cases with concise summaries, costs, associated risks, timelines, and financial forecasting.
Implement Project Management expertise to control and deliver projects on time and within budget, managing both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Considerable IT delivery experience, specifically in project & portfolio management, delivering projects of varying complexity
Regulated industry experience, ideally within Utilities
Demonstrable financial ownership of projects in various contractual situations.
Contractual/Commercial awareness with experience in devising contracts that enhance supplier delivery.
Process and Governance design and implementation expertise.
Vendor and customer management skills.
Degree level education.
Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent Project management qualification.
Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or equivalent is preferable.
ITIL experience/qualification is helpful for interaction with IT Operations and Acceptance into Service.
