Project Manager – Commercial Refurbishment & Maintenance

Fortus Recruitment Group Limited are a recruitment company that specialise in placing people within the repairs & maintenance industry. We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager on behalf of a successful and expanding refurbishment and maintenance contractor who deliver high-quality refurbishment, maintenance and fit-out projects within the hospitality and leisure sectors.

They are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple refurbishment and maintenance projects from pre-start through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and commercially minded Project Manager to take ownership of several refurbishment and maintenance projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

The position offers a balance of office-based project management and regular site visits across the South East.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple refurbishment and maintenance projects from pre-construction through to completion.
Carry out regular site inspections and attend client and subcontractor progress meetings.
Procure materials and coordinate subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
Monitor project programmes, identify risks and resolve site issues promptly.
Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
Prepare and manage project documentation, reports, programmes and variations.
Monitor project budgets, subcontractor costs and overall commercial performance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience managing commercial refurbishment, fit-out or maintenance projects.
A strong trade background, ideally in carpentry or joinery.
Excellent commercial awareness, with experience managing project budgets, subcontractor costs, variations and profitability.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills.
SMSTS certification.
A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience delivering refurbishment projects within the hospitality, leisure or licensed premises sectors.
