Project Manager - Insurance

Job Description

My London Market Insurance client is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to join their dynamic team across both Business Change and IT projects. This role is pivotal in steering their project portfolio towards achieving strategic business objectives through meticulous planning, robust governance, and effective execution.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and oversee the progress of the portfolio, ensuring all projects are aligned with strategic goals.
Establish high standards of quality assurance to maintain the integrity of our portfolio.
Collaborate with various business units to develop a forward-looking project roadmap.
Support and enhance our governance framework to standardise portfolio management across the organisation.
Lead the delivery of complex projects, managing dependencies, finances, resources, and RAID elements effectively.
Innovate and improve our Programme Management Office functions, including governance and controls.
Draft and manage business cases, driving the project prioritisation process aligned with organisational goals.
Ensure rigorous management of project budgets, schedules, and resources, both internal and external.
Navigate project risks and issues, escalating them appropriately within our governance structures.
Engage and manage third-party relations to ensure quality and cost-effective project delivery.
Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders, preparing detailed reports and presentations for the Board.

Operational Requirements:
Demonstrate strong adherence to our data governance and document management policies.
Operate within the authority levels set by the Board, maintaining awareness of operational risks and managing them proactively.

Experience Required:
Has proven experience in managing large, complex project portfolios within Insurance.
Exhibits strong leadership, strategic thinking, and organisational skills.
Is proficient in project management frameworks and comfortable with high-level stakeholder management.

This permanent role is onsite 2-3 days a week in London.
