IT Project Manager

- Location: Cardiff (one day per week onsite)
- Salary: Up to £65,000
We are seeking an IT Project Manager with a strong background in utilities to join our client. The ideal candidate will have experience delivering IT solutions in a regulated industry and managing projects in a largely outsourced environment. This role requires working at all levels of the organisation, handling multiple requirements and stakeholders, and influencing key decision-making to ensure timely project delivery.
Day to Day of the role:
- Take ownership of IT projects, ensuring delivery to time and budget.
- Collaborate with IT Team colleagues to review business requirements and match them to appropriate solutions.
- Manage external tender selection events with our procurement team, as required.
- Support investment sign-off by shaping project business cases with concise summaries, costs, associated risks, timelines, and financial forecasting.
- Implement Project Management expertise to control and deliver projects on time and within budget, managing both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Considerable IT delivery experience, specifically in project & portfolio management, delivering projects of varying complexity
- Regulated industry experience, ideally within Utilities
- Demonstrable financial ownership of projects in various contractual situations.
- Contractual/Commercial awareness with experience in devising contracts that enhance supplier delivery.
- Process and Governance design and implementation expertise.
- Vendor and customer management skills.
- Degree level education.
- Prince 2 Practitioner or equivalent Project management qualification.
- Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or equivalent is preferable.
- ITIL experience/qualification is helpful for interaction with IT Operations and Acceptance into Service.
