PE Global is currently recruiting for a Project Quality Engineer on behalf of a leading global engineering and manufacturing organisation, based at their Peterlee site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional with a background in supplier quality, manufacturing processes, project management and component manufacturing to join a high-profile engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering supplier quality activities across New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI) programmes.
Location: Peterlee, County Durham Contract: 12 months Hours: Full-Time, 36.5 hours per week Rate: 28.43 per hour PAYE
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage project plans, milestones, budgets and resources. • Work closely with Design Engineering, Operations and Manufacturing Engineering to support technical requirements. • Coordinate cross-functional teams across Supply Chain, Production, Quality Engineering, Logistics and Procurement. • Work with buyers and suppliers to obtain quotations, agree contracts and support supplier selection. • Manage multiple projects and proactively identify and address supply risks and concerns. • Support APQP projects from concept through to PPAP, ensuring components meet quality, cost and delivery requirements. • Collaborate with Packaging, Transportation, Business Resources, Supply Chain and other functions to support successful project delivery. • Implement product supply strategies aligned with category management objectives. • Develop and strengthen supplier relationships and contribute to an integrated, high-performing supply network. • Apply quality lessons and continuous improvement principles across the supplier base. • Use data and analysis to support effective decision-making and resolve quality or project-related issues.
Skills & Experience Required
• Proven experience in Project Management, with the ability to coordinate activities, manage timelines and deliver projects successfully. • Experience within Supplier Quality, ideally within a manufacturing or component manufacturing environment. • Strong understanding of supplier management processes and supplier performance requirements. • Knowledge of Procurement, sourcing and supply chain processes. • Experience working within manufacturing environments and collaborating with suppliers. • Familiarity with APQP and PPAP methodologies is highly desirable. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions. • Experience using data and analysis to support business and project decisions. • Understanding of cost-benefit analysis and its application to products, processes and projects. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. • Degree or equivalent relevant experience is desirable.
