Build Recruitment are currently working with a leading national contractor to recruit an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a major 10-year planned works framework.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with experience across planned maintenance, social housing, frameworks and commercial management to take ownership of a long-term programme of works.
Experience working with NHF and/or Target Price Model frameworks would be highly desirable.
The RoleAs Project Quantity Surveyor, you will have sole commercial responsibility for the framework, working across a varied programme of planned works covering houses, blocks and High-Risk Buildings.
A key part of the role will involve validating properties and blocks, obtaining costs and preparing pricing submissions for client approval, before managing the commercial process through to completion.
You will be supported by an Assistant Quantity Surveyor and potentially an Administrator, providing additional resource to help manage the day-to-day running of the framework.
Key Responsibilities Take commercial lead on a10-year planned works framework. Validate properties, blocks and planned works requirements. Obtain, assess and negotiate prices from subcontractors and suppliers. Prepare and submit pricing proposals to the client for approval. Manage applications, valuations and payments. Prepare and manage project cashflows and forecasts. Produce and maintain accurate CVRs and commercial reports. Manage variations and changes to works. Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance. Manage subcontractor accounts and commercial relationships. Support procurement and supply chain management. Work closely with operational teams to ensure works are delivered commercially and effectively. Maintain accurate commercial records throughout the lifecycle of the works. Provide commercial advice to the client and wider project team. Support and mentor the Assistant Quantity Surveyor.Planned WorksThe framework covers a broad range of planned maintenance and improvement works, including:
Windows Roofing Brickwork and external works Front entrance doors Electrical works Mechanical works Scaffolding Planned works to houses and blocks Works to High-Risk BuildingsAbout YouThe ideal candidate will be an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor with a background in planned works, social housing or refurbishment frameworks.
You should have:
Previous experience working on framework contracts. Strong commercial management experience. Experience within planned maintenance / planned works. Knowledge of NHF and/or Target Price Model frameworks. Experience managing valuations, payments, CVRs, cashflows and variations. Strong subcontractor and supply chain management skills. Excellent commercial and analytical ability. The confidence to take ownership of a framework and act as the commercial lead.
