Project Scheduler Location: Horsham, West Sussex Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Scheduler to join a busy Programmes team in Horsham, West Sussex. Reporting to the Programme Director, this role will play a key part in supporting project and programme delivery by developing, maintaining, and monitoring detailed project schedules across multiple complex assignments.
The successful candidate will work closely with Project and Programme Managers to define tasks, timelines, dependencies, and resource requirements, ensuring schedules remain aligned to project scope, objectives, and delivery milestones. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced scheduler with strong technical knowledge and excellent planning capability to make a real impact in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Project Managers to define tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. Create detailed Microsoft Project schedules, including work breakdown structures (WBS), tasks, and dependencies. Develop plans to support bid stages and re-baselining during delivery phases. Establish and maintain project performance metrics and KPIs. Track project progress against plans and budgets, updating schedules as required. Work with stakeholders to manage resource requirements across the business. Identify risks, opportunities, assumptions, and dependencies within schedules. Support mitigation planning and risk forecasting. Ensure schedules align with project scope and objectives.Skills and Experience
Essential
Extensive knowledge and experience in project planning and scheduling. Experience with project management methodologies and tools, including budgeting and control. Experience in resource management. Expert-level Microsoft Project knowledge. 2–3 years’ experience scheduling multiple complex projects concurrently. Technical background, ideally within an engineering design and development environment.Desirable
Project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.About the Role
