An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Surveyor to join a major programme delivering large-scale residential refurbishment and building safety projects across Bristol.
Working for a well-established public sector organisation, you'll play a key role in delivering complex capital projects focused on improving residential housing stock, including high-rise buildings and major refurbishment works.
The Role
You'll manage multiple construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This is a varied role combining office-based work, hybrid working and regular site visits. As projects progress, site attendance will become an increasingly significant part of the position.
Key Responsibilities
* Project manage major refurbishment and planned maintenance schemes.
* Carry out building inspections, condition surveys and defect diagnosis.
* Prepare specifications, schedules of works and tender documentation.
* Administer contracts under JCT and NEC forms.
* Monitor contractor performance, programme, quality and compliance on site.
* Manage project budgets, valuations, variations and financial reporting.
* Chair project meetings and liaise with consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with current Building Regulations, CDM Regulations and relevant housing legislation.
* Produce technical reports, feasibility studies and project documentation.
* Drive excellent customer and stakeholder engagement throughout project delivery.
About You
We're looking for an experienced Building Surveyor or construction professional with experience delivering refurbishment projects within residential environments.
You'll ideally have experience with:
* Building surveying or construction project management.
* Residential refurbishment, planned maintenance or retrofit projects.
* Social housing, local authority or housing association projects.
* Contract administration using JCT and/or NEC contracts.
* Condition surveys and defect diagnosis.
* Managing contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
* Tendering, procurement and contract management.
* Budget monitoring and project reporting.
* Site inspections and quality assurance.
Desirable Experience
* Cladding remediation or external wall systems.
* Fire safety or building safety projects.
* PAS 2035 retrofit programmes.
* High-rise residential projects.
* RICS, CIOB or equivalent professional qualification.
* Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations and social housing legislation.
