Overview:

Gallagher Bassett’s Claims Consultancy Team is project led, and can include Insourced Claims Handling, Audit and Review, and Training Projects. The Team are dedicated claims professionals who support clients, and Gallagher Bassett Operations Nationwide.

Here at Gallagher Bassett Claims Consultancy Division, we provide our clients with bespoke and tailored services to meet their needs. The Claims Consultancy division looks to build on your individual claims knowledge and offer you opportunities to develop your claim knowledge across many different claim disciplines.

Claims Consultancy Handler - Remote Opportunity

The role will initially involve dealing with property claims (commercial) including complaints.

You will be working for our specialist clients initially within the commercial property arena. We encourage all our employees within Claims Consultancy to multi skill their claims knowledge across many different claim disciplines, from motor, property, employers’ liability, and public liability claims and more. If you are looking for a challenge in the claims arena to expand on your existing claims knowledge into different areas, then this is the position for you.
Responsibilities:

Effective caseload management of claims from start to finish.
Ensuring phone calls are answered and queries attended to via email within agreed service levels
Assisting colleagues where necessary with office duties.
Pro-active management of claims caseload.
Knowledge of claims and policies
Ensuring the communication lines coming into the offices are responded to with correct advice.
Make effective and prompt decisions in respect of policy cover
Able to communicate decisions clearly over the phone and in written form
Have the ability to assist others with the knowledge gained.
Comply with all Gallagher Bassett and office procedures including our clients Standard Operating Procedures.
Any other duties as required by Gallagher Bassett
UK wide role requiring possible travel and operating from client sites
Support, train and develop less experienced staff
Develop relationships with clients by providing a friendly, efficient service
Actively participate in Gallagher Bassett training programme
Qualifications:

Comprehensive understanding of Commercial property claims, on a peril and all-risks basis.
Exposure and experience of SME, Block and Let policy claims
Business interruption knowledge is preferred but not essential.
Good understanding of the insurance industry or financial background
Previous phone based customer service experience gained within the insurance industry
Ability to meet specific deadlines
A committed and flexible approach
Displays enthusiasm and commitment, willing to own problems and take responsibility for own actions, ability to think outside the box to solve problems on the spot.
Good attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate and thorough data capture
Proficient computer skills
Ability to prioritise workloads
Attention to detail, accuracy and effective organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving skills
Effective time-management skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
Adherence to File Management best practices
Self-motivated
Highly adaptable and able to use initiative
Ability to work under pressure, and with minimum supervision.
Clearly explain decisions on policy cover, liability, and settlement negotiations.
