Our Head Office Property Department is looking for a sharp, driven, and analytical individual to join our Cost & Investment team on a 20-month fixed-term contract.

What you'll do

• Responsible for reconciliation of store construction project expenditure between Accounting system and Property system as well as preparing plan vs. actual expenditure variance analysis for executive management


• Responsible for a number of Property-driven cost accounts incl. annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and monthly plan vs actual variance analysis for the Lidl GB Board and the International Head Office in Germany


• Responsible for ad-hoc Property cost analysis and preparing presentations for the Lidl GB Board and the International Head Office in Germany 


• Responsible for data quality across our Property systems LISY and SAP RE-FX


• Key contact/Expert for Property cost queries from within the Property department, the Regional Expansion offices and executive management


• Liaising with the Head office in Germany, Regional expansion offices, the Accounting team and other Real Estate departments across the business, such as the Estates team, Store Construction, FM and Procurement

What you'll need

• Accounting/Management Accounting knowledge essential incl. P’n’L, CapEx/OpEx, capitalisation of assets, experience of SAP FI/CO (optional)


• Previous Property/Real Estate experience beneficial but not essential


• Excellent communication skills at all levels of the organisation incl. Senior/Executive Management 


• Passion for working with numbers


• Excellent attention to detail


• Self-motivated and proactive individual with a can-do attitude with the ability to work on projects and solve problems independently


• Team player who is able to collaborate with the Cost & Investment team, the wider Property department, as well as various stakeholders across the business


• Intermediate Excel skills - please note that Lidl has recently transitioned from Excel to Google Sheets


• German beneficial but not essential
