Duties:

• Provide musical directorship for the Contemporary Service at RAF Lakenheath Chapel. Directorship is required at all rehearsals, and services.
• Provide musical directorship for a minimum of 1 rehearsal and 1 worship service each week.
• Collaborate musical selections with the Chaplain and Contemporary Service Music Accompanist.
• Lead the praise team and congregation in worship and vocally lead them as required by the Chaplain.
• Assist the Chaplain or their designated representative in developing the following in regard to Music Director Programs as appropriate: annual calendar of events, Chapel tithes and offerings fund budget, appropriated fund budget, and core volunteer training requirements.
• Sing music from a religious music, ecclesiastical, or suitable type publication resource consistent with the nature of the Contemporary Service.
• Provide arranged, improved, and scored music as appropriate for compatibility with the type of worship service or other functions of the Chaplain’s program at which it was rendered.
• Provide Audio/Visual (A/V) lyrics (e.g. PowerPoint slides) for all services as required.

Qualification/ Education:

• Have 2 or more years of post-secondary education in music (or related field), or equivalent years of related experience in a chapel/church setting.
• Be able to sing and vocally lead congregation in worship.
• Be able to sight read, arrange, improve, play, and score music.
• Must possess the ability to constructively work well with others in a multi-faith environment.
• Must be able to efficiently organize and manage diverse program elements.
