The Opportunity

Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire, is actively seeking an experienced Prototype Build Engineer who has full Vehicle build knowledge on what will initially be a 12-Month contract basis (inside IR35), with high chances of this assignment seeing extension beyond its initial term. On offer to the successful applicant is a highly competitive hourly pay rate, together with the opportunity to also earn enhanced pay for overtime worked.

Reporting to the Prototype Build Manager in a department that delivers a class leading service that builds, maintains and supports all current and future Prototype Vehicle requirements, your role will be to plan, co-ordinate and deliver prototype vehicles as defined by the development build programme.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:
To report on Prototype Build issues through both summary and formal reports and where necessary, co-ordinate activities to identify root causes, implement resolutions and validate closure actions.
Work with Build Engineering Leaders to ensure bridging content is understood and fully tracked into prototype build.
Support Build Engineering Leaders with data collation and reporting in relevant forums.
Generate and manage Vehicle Build books prior to and during build.
Work with Engineers to resolve identified late supply parts and support any resultant containment actions.
To manage workshop tooling, including implementation and maintenance of torque tooling.You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Should ideally have a Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification Diploma level 3, perhaps full Vehicle Apprenticeship, although plenty of relevant experience might be considered.
You will need to have a strong fundamental understanding of, and plenty of experience in full Vehicle Build.
You will have hands-on experience with high-performance Engine/Drivetrain building, teardown and analysis.
Should have IC and EV Powertrain understanding to a high technical level.
Will need a comprehensive understanding of MS Excel and should also have strong Presentation writing skills and the ability to deliver these.
Should have extensive experience in integrating Vehicle systems on prototype builds.
Should have a good understanding of CAD/Teamcenter.
Will be skilled in failure investigations and problem solving, together with having a proven track record in delivering sound and robust engineering solutions to intricate problems.
Must be flexible and able to communicate at all levels.It would be great if you also have the following:
Willingness to develop and mentor Build Technicians.This position is available with immediate effect.
