Location: Leicester

Salary: Up to £16.00 - £18.00 per hour

Shift: 7:30am - 4:30pm (Mon - Thurs) 7:30am - 12:30pm (Fri)

The Prototype Welder Role:

Due to continued growth into new sectors and expansion of their largest contracts, the company is undergoing a recruitment drive of up to 15 new engineers, assigned exclusively to Optima UK.

As part of this planned growth, they are now looking to recruit a permanent Prototype Welder on their day shift.

The Position requires someone to MIG/TIG weld to a high quality and to work at speed ensuring targets are met.
You will be able to work to high/tight tolerances and have experience working with mild steel.
The position is based in the prototype department making one off parts.

The Candidate:

Over 12 months experience as a Welder
Read blueprints and drawings and taking measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications knowledge of using measuring equipment to quality check work.
Fettling and grinding, sheet metal work and assembly.
Quality check finished products.
Record and report any issues.
Manual handling of different tools to complete the job to the highest standards set.
