Job Type: Full time, Permanent. Monday-Friday days 8am - 4pm/6am - 2pm and late shift 4 on 4 off 3pm - 2am.
We are looking for PSV / HGV Technicians to join our engineering team at our Reading depot.
We want hard-working, self-starting individuals with a passion for repairing and maintaining heavy-duty vehicles. You will play an important role in ensuring our bus fleet is maintained to a high standard and operates safely and reliably.
You'll be joining an award-winning department that is a founder member of the DVSA's Earned Recognition scheme.

Key Responsibilities:
Inspect, repair, and maintain our buses to a high standard Investigate and diagnose mechanical and electronic faults Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs as required Record faults and the work performed to fix them using a tablet Follow all safety instructions and procedures Report any issues promptly and accurately Contribute to a safe, compliant and efficient workshop environment Ensure all work is completed to the required engineering and safety standardsShift Patterns:
Positions are available across a range of shift patterns, including:
Monday - Friday day shift: Alternating two-week shift pattern of 8am - 4pm & 6am - 2pm 4 on / 4 off late shift: 3pm - 2amThe rate of pay will be determined by the rota you work on, with rates of £29+ per hour available.
Experience & Qualifications:
Our ideal candidates will:
Possess at least an NVQ Level 2 qualification in the maintenance and repair of public service vehicles or heavy goods vehicles, or an equivalent international qualification OR have at least five years' experience in repairing and maintaining public service or heavy goods vehicles Be able to provide evidence of relevant experience where the five-year experience route is being used Provide evidence of your qualification from the awarding body Have a strong understanding of mechanical and electronic vehicle systems Be confident diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs Have a strong commitment to safety and high standards of workmanship Be hard-working, self-starting and able to work effectively as part of a teamIf you don't have an NVQ qualification, you'll need to pass the IRTEC Service Maintenance Technician exam during your six-month probation period.
While not essential, having a PCV licence would be a great advantage.
