Psychology Graduate Role

Location: BS9, Bristol
Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Are you a psychology graduate looking to gain hands on experience working with children? We are working with a primary school in the BS9 area of Bristol who are looking for a dedicated 1-1 Teaching Assistant to support a child with additional needs.

This is a great opportunity for a psychology graduate wanting practical experience in an educational setting, while making a genuine difference to a child's learning and development.

The Role:

Providing dedicated 1-1 support to a pupil with additional needs
Supporting the child to access classroom learning and stay engaged with activities
Helping with transitions, daily routines and tasks throughout the school day
Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours
Supporting social skills, communication and emotional regulation
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to track progress
Creating a calm, structured and nurturing environment for the child
We Are Looking For:

A degree in Psychology or a related subject (desirable)
Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting (essential)
A calm, patient and reassuring approach
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to stay positive and composed in challenging situations
Strong communication and relationship building skills
Reliability, professionalism and a commitment to safeguarding
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
