P/T ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR / BOOKKEEPER

Somerset Solders Ltd, incorporating Somerset Workwear, is an established and growing Somerset business supplying customers across the electronics, construction, medical and transport sectors. We are looking for an experienced and dependable Accounts Administrator to join our small, friendly team. This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day accounting administration of the business.

We are offering a permanent position working 16 hours per week with a flexible approach on how the hours are worked with hybrid working to be discussed.

Key responsibilities:

· Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers

· Credit control and customer statements

· Bank and nominal ledger reconciliations

· Resolving supplier and customer invoice queries

· Preparing and submitting VAT returns, ensuring VAT is correctly accounted for on transactions

· Liaising with colleagues, customers and suppliers on accounts matters

· Supporting month-end accounting processes / reporting to management

You’ll ideally have at least two years’ experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role and be comfortable working independently across a range of day-to-day accounting tasks. Experience with Xero is essential. Previous experience in working with an ERP system will be an advantage.
