Job Description - Pupil Behaviour & Mental Health Support

Start Date: September 2026 
Contract / Hours: Full time (8:30 - 15:30) 
Pay: £95 to £105 per day.

Teaching Personnel is seeking committed and resilient Behaviour & Mental Health Mentors to provide targeted support to pupils presenting behavioural challenges in Northumberland & Newcastle secondary schools. This role involves working closely with the SENCo and teaching staff to deliver structured interventions that promote emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour.

What you'll be doing:

Delivering short term behaviour interventions to identified pupils
Providing consistent 1:1 and small group support
Assisting pupils in developing positive behaviour strategies
Working collaboratively with SEN and pastoral teams
Following whole school behaviour and safeguarding protocols
You need:

Experience supporting children or young people with behavioural needs
Confidence in delivering structured behavioural support
Calm, patient and professional under pressure
Ability to adapt support strategies to meet individual pupil needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
