We’re looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our team in, Kings Hill, UK.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Clerk to support the finance team with day-to-day accounting operations. The role involves accurate invoice processing, supplier liaison, reconciliations, and assisting with payments and reporting to ensure smooth financial operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately code, post, and process purchase and manual invoices in line with company policies.
• Manage incoming finance emails, resolving supplier and internal invoice queries promptly.
• Perform daily and month-end bank reconciliations, including revaluations and petty cash reconciliation.
• Prepare and process supplier payments, payroll deductions, and inter-company allocations.
• Set up and validate new supplier accounts and bank details within HSBCnet.
• Manage group currency transfers, drawdowns, and overnight deposits.
• Download and reconcile statements and invoices from portals, including HMRC Customs.
• Support audits by maintaining accurate records and providing required documentation; assist with ad hoc finance tasks as needed.

Experience we look for:

Essential

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Good understanding of purchase ledger processes.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise workload.
• Good organisational skills.
• Must be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy.
• Proficient in Excel and experienced with ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong team player and ability to collaborate with financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience in FMCG, food production, manufacturing or retail environments.
• Microsoft Dynamics experience.
