Job Description - Purchase Ledger Clerk - temp until November

Purchase Ledger Clerk
Location: Wythenshawe Manchester
Contract Type: Temporary

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm or 8.30am-4.30pm or 8am-4pm.
Salary: £13.00-£14.50 Per Hour DOE
Start Date: Immediate Start

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk to join our clients finance team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the purchase ledger function, ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with prior accounts payable or purchase ledger experience to contribute to a busy finance department on a short-term basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Match, batch, and code invoices
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain up-to-date supplier account records
  • Deal with supplier queries via phone and email
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc duties as required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software Exact is desired but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar temporary or fast-paced environment
  • AAT qualification or similar (not essential)
