Purchase Ledger Manager

RM Recruit is delighted to be partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation based in Birmingham in the search for a confident and articulate Purchase Ledger Manager. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with only one day per week required in the office.

As a Purchase Ledger Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end transactional function and manage a small team. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processing, while supporting the wider finance function with reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Posting of journals
• Supervision of transactional finance staff
• Preparation, posting, and processing of invoices and payments
• Posting of prepayments and accruals
• Managing general and complex finance queries
• Processing payroll-related payments
• Authorising purchase and sales ledger payments
• Maintaining accurate financial records, including banking and purchase ledger

Person Specification

• Proven experience in a similar purchase ledger or accounts payable management role
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• High attention to detail and excellent organisational ability
• Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
• Ability to plan and prioritise workloads
• Confident with accounting systems and Excel
• A team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Experience within the not-for-profit or public sector is desirable but not essential
