Purchase Ledger Manager

You love a clean ledger, and you can spot a duplicate invoice in your sleep. You understand that finance teams aren't just number crunchers, they're the people keeping the business engine from coughing up smoke and dying on the hard shoulder.

This business has multiple sites and turns over £40 million a year, and they're growing. They're the kind of company that still actually knows the names of its employees and customers.

They need someone to take ownership of the Purchase Ledger function across two legal entities and managing a small team.

What you'll actually be doing:

• Making sure weekly supplier payment runs don't go rogue
• Keeping cashflow sharp and predictable
• Leading the team on invoice posting, reconciliations, credit chasing
• Handling supplier queries (mainly the ones that make it past the frontline)
• Talking to the buying team like a human, not a spreadsheet
• Running team meetings, coaching, and keeping standards high without being a micromanager
• Sorting things before they become fires
• Supporting with reporting, including the new shiny sustainability data stuff

What you won't be doing:

• Sitting in back-to-back meetings all week
• Fighting red tape just to get a £48 invoice approved
• Chasing people who don't know what PO stands for
