Adecco are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established national business based in Sudbury, for a Purchasing, Stock & Purchase Ledger Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and detail-focused individual with experience in purchasing, stock control, or purchase ledger processes. Offering a varied workload and the chance to work across multiple functions, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys maintaining accurate records, building supplier relationships, and supporting the smooth running of business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor stock levels and ensure inventory is maintained to meet business requirements. Maintain accurate stock records using internal stock management systems. Coordinate the receipt, storage and movement of goods. Raise and manage purchase orders in line with company procedures. Source products from approved suppliers, considering cost, quality and availability. Monitor supplier lead times and follow up on outstanding orders. Liaise with suppliers regarding deliveries, pricing, shortages and product availability. Process supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timescales. Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes. Investigate and resolve invoice queries and discrepancies. Reconcile supplier statements and maintain accurate financial records. Assist with month-end processes and reporting requirements. Ensure purchasing and finance documentation is maintained and up to date.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within purchasing, stock control, purchase ledger, finance administration, or a similar role. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively. Confidence using Microsoft Excel and finance, accounting, or stock management systems. The ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team. Strong communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders. An AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential.
