Purchasing Assistant

Location: Bedford
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time
Contract: Temporary sick cover

We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Purchasing Assistant to join a busy team based in Bedford. This is a great opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with purchasing or administration experience.

The Role

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support the purchasing team with the day-to-day procurement and administration activities, helping to ensure orders are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities:

Raising and processing purchase orders
Liaising with suppliers and internal departments
Obtaining quotations and checking pricing
Monitoring outstanding orders and deliveries
Maintaining accurate purchasing records and systems
Assisting with invoice and delivery queries
Supporting the wider purchasing team with administrative tasks
Ensuring purchasing information is kept up to date
About You

The ideal candidate will be:

Previous experience in purchasing from an engineering components company, procurement, supply chain or administration
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues
Comfortable working with Microsoft Office and computerised systems
Able to work independently and manage competing priorities
Reliable, proactive and a good team player
Available to work full-time on a temporary basis
