Are you an experienced Purchasing professional , Merchandiser or Demand Planner who enjoys combining purchasing with data, forecasting and stock management?

Eaton Syalon are recruiting for a Buyer / Purchasing Coordinator to join an established and growing business in a varied commercial role with responsibility for buying, merchandising, forecasting and maintaining appropriate stock levels.

This is a hands-on position where you’ll work closely with suppliers and internal teams, using sales information, customer demand and commercial insight to make informed purchasing decisions and ensure products are available when required.

You would need to be able to drive due to the location of the role. Ideally, candidates will be based around Annesley, Papplewick, Bestwood Village, or the surrounding areas.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will include:

* Forecasting purchasing requirements using sales data, customer demand, budgets and supplier lead times

* Raising purchase orders, negotiating pricing and managing supplier relationships through to delivery

* Reviewing sales performance and adjusting buying plans in line with changing demand

* Monitoring stock levels to maintain availability while reducing excess stock

* Identifying slow-moving products, stock risks and purchasing opportunities

* Resolving supplier delays, shortages and other availability issues

* Monitoring overseas shipments and supporting import/export requirements where needed

* Working closely with internal teams to support customer demand and operational planning

* Using commercial judgement to balance stock availability, cost and business requirements

Who are we looking for?

You might currently be working as a Buyer, Assistant Buyer, Merchandiser, Buyer Merchandiser, Demand Planner, Stock Planner, Supply Chain Coordinator or Purchasing Coordinator.

Ideally, you’ll bring experience across areas such as:

* Buying, merchandising, demand planning, supply chain or stock management

* Using sales and stock data to support purchasing decisions

* Forecasting and replenishment planning

* Raising and managing purchase orders

* Supplier management and negotiation

* Managing delivery schedules and resolving supply issues

* Reviewing stock performance and identifying slow-moving or excess stock

* Balancing stock availability against customer demand and cost

Experience working with overseas suppliers and international logistics would be advantageous, as would experience within a product-led buying environment.

You’ll need to be analytical, commercially aware and highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the confidence to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
