Are you a commercially sharp Purchasing Manager with a background in tools, DIY, or hard goods? Do you have the leadership skills to drive a branded product strategy while ensuring it complements a strong own-brand range?

We’re recruiting for a leading UK retailer with a national footprint across stores, and online. They are investing in their purchasing function and looking for a strategic and hands-on leader to take ownership of their branded product buying — a £10–12m portfolio with real commercial impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and develop a team of 3 Buyers and 3 Assistants
• Take full ownership of the branded product portfolio across stores, and online.
• Negotiate robust commercial terms, including rebates, promotional support, and pricing
• Work closely with marketing to align supplier campaigns and maximise visibility
• Monitor stock performance and optimise ordering cycles to maintain availability and margin
• Occasional international travel (Far East) to support supplier relationships and product sourcing

What You’ll Bring

• Strong experience in purchasing/buying within tools, hardware, automotive, or related hard goods
• Confidence managing multi-million-pound supplier portfolios (£10m+)
• A commercial mindset and excellent negotiation skills
• Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team
• Experience balancing branded lines with private-label product strategies
