Job Title: Purchasing Officer
Location: Ripon
Salary: £35,000 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join a dynamic and growing international business based in Ripon. This role is ideal for a proactive and strategic individual looking to make a meaningful impact within a global purchasing function. As part of a collaborative procurement team, you will play a key role in sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships to support global operations.

Your Duties asPurchasing Officer will include:

• Lead purchasing activities as part of a collaborative global procurement team
• Research, evaluate and liaise with new suppliers including communication, vetting and approval processes
• Conduct full analyses to support supplier selection and contract decisions
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers, fostering trust and reliability
• Negotiate pricing and terms with both new and current suppliers
• Evaluate supplier performance and manage any non-conformance or improvement plans
• Support product testing to meet internal and industry-specific standards
• Align with company strategies and meet defined targets and KPIs
• Collaborate cross functionally with Product Management, Quality Control and other departments
• Plan and report effectively on key procurement projects

Experience and Skills required:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar role (global or multi-supplier purchase experience preferred)
• A positive, proactive work ethic and ability to thrive under pressure
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Confident negotiation skills and a strategic mindset
• CIPS qualified or working towards a CIPS qualification is highly preferable
• Proficient in Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experienced with ERP systems
• Strong analytical and project planning skills
