We are currently working with an established fabrication client who is looking to appoint an experienced QHSE Manager to lead and develop their Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards across the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive QHSE professional with a strong background in fabrication, steel profiling, structural steel, or a similar engineering/manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the QHSE function, ensuring the company continues to meet legislative, customer and industry requirements while driving a strong culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all aspects of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) across the business.
* Develop, implement and maintain QHSE policies, procedures and management systems.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards and customer requirements.
* Carry out regular site inspections, audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances, implementing effective corrective actions.
* Monitor and improve quality standards throughout the fabrication and production processes.
* Work closely with production and management teams to promote a positive health and safety culture.
* Manage and maintain relevant QHSE documentation, records and reporting.
* Support internal and external audits and ensure actions are completed effectively.
* Provide QHSE training, guidance and support to employees at all levels.
* Monitor environmental performance and ensure appropriate controls are in place.
* Track QHSE KPIs and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and best practice.
About You
We are looking for an experienced QHSE professional who understands the challenges of a busy manufacturing or engineering environment.
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience in a QHSE / HSEQ / SHEQ management role.
* Previous experience within fabrication, steel profiling, structural steel, engineering or a similar manufacturing environment.
* A strong understanding of health & safety legislation and environmental requirements.
* Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
* Strong knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement principles.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with both shop-floor and senior management teams.
* A proactive and hands-on approach to QHSE.
* Relevant QHSE qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor or equivalent would be advantageous Only candidates based in UK and eligible to work in UK are allowed
