Make a Difference in Children’s Lives Southend-on-Sea City is seeking
two experienced and passionate Fostering Team Managers to join our dedicated Children’s Social Work, Early Help & Youth Support division. This is a permanent opportunity to take on a leadership role within a forward-thinking, child-centred local authority.
About the Role As a
Fostering Team Manager, you will lead a team of social workers and support staff, ensuring the highest standards of care, support, and oversight for foster carers and the children in their care. This is a key leadership position, requiring a blend of management experience, professional knowledge, and a commitment to making a real difference in the lives of children and young people.
Key Responsibilities: - Provide effective leadership and management to the fostering team
- Ensure high-quality supervision, assessment, and support for foster carers
- Promote safe, stable, and nurturing placements for children and young people
- Manage team performance and drive continuous improvement
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development within fostering services
About You: To be successful, you will need:
- Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
- Substantial experience in fostering services
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy, and best practice in fostering
