Job Title: Qualified Practice Bookkeeper
Location: Ripon
Salary: £29,000 to £44,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday

We are working with an established Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Ripon who are currently seeking a Qualified Practice Bookkeeper to join their friendly and close-knit team. With a strong reputation for expertise and client service across the local area, this well respected firm offers an excellent working environment.

Your Duties AsQualified Practice booker will include:

• Handling day to day bookkeeping for a varied client portfolio, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded
• Preparing client VAT returns and ensuring submissions are compliant and made within required deadlines
• Maintaining accurate records of income and expenditure across different accounting platforms
• Supporting the preparation of management reports by keeping accounts up to date and well organised
• Communicating with clients to gather documentation, clarify queries and provide routine financial support
• Working with cloud based accounting software to manage client accounts
• Assisting with pre year end preparation including reviewing ledgers and ensuring accounts are ready for handover to accountants
• Ensuring all bookkeeping tasks are completed in line with internal standards and external compliance requirements
• Delivering a reliable and professional service to clients, adapting to the needs of different sectors and business sizes

Skills required:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
• Practical knowledge of Iris, Sage and QuickBooks is beneficial but not essential
• Solid understanding of accounts and tax preparation

In return the successful Qualified Practice Bookkeeper will receive a salary of between £29,000 - £44,000 pro rata and will have the option of hybrid working once passed probation. You will be part of a firm that values its employees and rewards them for their hard work. This position can be based on 30 or 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday, so would suit both full time and part time candidates!
