Qualified Secondary Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are currently recruiting qualified Secondary Teaching Assistants to work across a range of secondary schools in Birmingham.

We are looking for enthusiastic, committed and experienced Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential.

The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and students to provide effective classroom support. Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting students with their learning and development across the secondary curriculum.

Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.

Working with students who have additional learning needs and/or SEND.

Helping to create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Supporting classroom management and student behaviour.

Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.

Monitoring and reporting on student progress where appropriate.

Building positive and professional relationships with students, staff and parents/carers.

About You
We are keen to hear from candidates who have:

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant equivalent experience.

Experience working within a secondary school setting.

A genuine passion for supporting young people.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A patient, supportive and positive approach.

The ability to work effectively as part of a school team.

A strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

A commitment to promoting positive behaviour and inclusion.

Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH or additional learning needs would be highly advantageous.
