Quality and Governance Manager

Job Description - Quality and Governance Manager

Bristol and Somerset

£45,000 to £52,000

Hybrid working with planned service travel

Ignis Solutions is working with a growing specialist care provider to appoint a Quality and Governance Manager across its adult services.

This is an opportunity for an experienced quality professional or ambitious Registered Manager to move beyond maintaining compliance within one service and influence quality across a wider organisation.

The provider supports adults with autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and complex behaviours through supported living and community based care.

It is continuing to develop its services and now requires somebody who can strengthen governance, support managers and ensure quality systems develop alongside its growth.

The role

You will work closely with operational leaders and Registered Managers to improve quality across a portfolio of CQC regulated services.

Your responsibility will extend beyond completing audits. You will identify what needs to improve, support managers to make the change and ensure learning becomes embedded within everyday practice.

Your remit will include:

• Developing and maintaining the quality assurance framework across multiple services.

• Supporting services to achieve and maintain strong CQC outcomes.

• Completing service audits and turning findings into clear improvement plans.

• Reviewing care plans, risk assessments, safeguarding, incidents, complaints and regulatory notifications.

• Identifying themes across services and translating them into management action and staff development.

• Coaching Registered Managers and helping them build confidence around regulation, governance and inspection readiness.

• Supporting services experiencing quality concerns or inconsistent practice.

• Helping managers evidence outcomes, learning and continuous improvement.

• Supporting new CQC registrations, Statements of Purpose and service mobilisation.

• Contributing to policy development and ensuring procedures remain relevant to the people being supported.

• Working with training colleagues to ensure workforce development reflects incidents, audit findings and service need.

• Providing senior leadership with clear oversight of quality, risk and performance.

Why this role is different

This position offers the opportunity to help shape how quality operates across a growing provider.

You will have direct access to senior leadership and the authority to influence systems, management practice and service development. You will be able to see the results of your work rather than simply reporting concerns or completing compliance checks.

For somebody currently working at service or regional level, this provides a credible route towards Head of Quality, Group Quality Lead or wider governance leadership.

About you

You may currently be working as a:

• Quality Assurance Manager

• Quality and Compliance Manager

• Governance Manager

• Regional Quality Lead

• Service Improvement Manager

• Registered Manager with wider quality responsibilities

• Operations Manager with a strong governance background

You should bring meaningful experience within CQC regulated adult social care and be able to demonstrate how your work has improved services.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of:

• Supported living or complex community care.

• Autism, learning disabilities or mental health services.

• Supporting CQC inspections.

• Developing quality systems or improvement frameworks.

• Safeguarding, incident management and complaints.

• Coaching Registered Managers.

• Supporting challenged services.

• Mobilising or registering new services.

• Leading quality across more than one service or location.

A Level 5 leadership qualification would be beneficial, although evidence of delivery, regulatory knowledge and the ability to influence managers are more important.

What is offered

• Salary between £50,000 and £55,000 depending on experience.

• Hybrid working with planned travel across Bristol, Somerset and surrounding areas.

• Direct exposure to senior leadership.

• Ownership of meaningful quality improvement work.

• The opportunity to influence new services as the organisation grows.

• A clear route towards wider group quality leadership.
