Job Description - Quality Assessor

Great opportunity to work as a Quality Assessor for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high quality standards within a fast-paced production environment.

Staffline is recruiting Quality Assessors to work in Alconbury.

Day shift is paid at £14.24 per hour
Overtime: £17.80 per hour (paid after 48 hours)

Night shift is paid at £17.80 per hour
Overtime: £20.25 per hour (paid after 48 hours)

This is a full-time role and the shift pattern will be:

4 on, 3 off, 3 on 4 off - Shifts are generally scheduled from Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday.

The hours of work are:
Day Shift 07:00 - 19:00
Night Shift 19:00 - 07:00

As part of a busy and fast-paced operation, flexibility is essential during peak periods such as Valentine's Day, Mother's Day and Christmas, when night shifts may be required.

This is a temporary-to-permanent role with long-term opportunities for the right candidates.

Your Time at Work

As a Quality Assessor, you will play a vital role in ensuring that raw materials and finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Working closely with production teams, growers, suppliers, and technical departments, you'll help deliver high-quality products while supporting continuous improvement across the business.

As a Quality Assessor, your duties will include but will not be limited to:

- Assess the quality of raw materials and finished products against customer specifications.
- Conduct detailed quality inspections, recording findings accurately with supporting data and photographic evidence where required.
- Complete daily, weekly, and periodic quality reports within agreed timescales.
Identify products that are out of specification and work with relevant departments to agree corrective actions.
- Manage the status of raw materials, including Use, Hold, and Dispose decisions.
- Communicate quality findings clearly with internal teams, growers, and suppliers.
- Support investigations into quality issues and assist with loss adjustment surveys where required.
- Review finished bouquets, including packaging, labels, construction, and raw material quality.
- Ensure production specifications are accurate, fit for purpose, and highlight any inconsistencies.
- Work collaboratively with production and technical teams to drive continuous quality improvements and reduce waste.

Our Perfect Worker

The ideal candidate will have previous quality assessment experience within a production or manufacturing environment and be confident working with quality standards and inspection processes.

You will have:

- Previous experience in a quality control or quality assurance role.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and interpret data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively with colleagues across multiple departments and external suppliers.
- Experience using quality assessment systems or software.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- A dependable, positive attitude with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Desirable:

- Experience within the flower, fresh produce, or horticulture industry.
- Knowledge of customer specifications and production quality standards.
- Familiarity with APEX or similar quality management systems.
