Job Description - Quality Assurance Lead

Job Description

Smart Solutions are working with a leading training company, providing tailored training to businesses across a wide range of disciplines, and we are pleased to be recruiting for a Quality Assurance Lead.

As the Quality Assurance Lead, your central objective is to take ownership of and lead all aspects of our quality assurance framework. Your role is instrumental in ensuring that our programs consistently meet the highest standards, adhere to regulations, and deliver exceptional outcomes, you will play a pivotal role in our continuous improvement and quality enhancement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific
Work alongside the Head of Quality in the development and implementation of our quality assurance processes and policies.
Establish and maintain a culture of excellence, setting clear quality benchmarks and targets.
Oversee regular audits, inspections, and evaluations to ensure ongoing compliance across all contracts.
Take the lead in quality assurance for sub-contractors, ensuring alignment with our standards.
Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to subcontractors to enhance program quality.
Actively engage and support in Self-Assessment Activities across all contracts.
Monitoring and supporting the enhancement of performance and standards, as well as gathering learner feedback to improve teaching and learning experiences.
Completion of actions within relevant quality development plans across all contracts.
Development and delivery of training to staff across contracts as required.
Collaborate closely with the Head of Quality to shape the strategic direction of our quality efforts.
Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation, and alignment with contractual obligations.
Deliver insightful reporting on quality compliance and initiatives.
Forge a strong working relationship with the Lead Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) to optimise External Verification Visits, supporting and coordinating of IQA sampling plans, identify themes and trends and work with Lead IQAs on areas for improvement.
Manging the Awarding Body co-ordinator to ensure that all learners are registered, qualifications are compliant with awarding body expectations and on-line systems are managed and maintained.
Ensure the quality of assessments, standards adherence, and continuous improvement in assessment practices.
Co-ordinate skills Competitions across contracts and partners
Any other duties as requested by your manager as deemed necessary from time to time.

People Management
Setting, measuring and review of individual/team KPIs and performance targets
Provide support to team members to ensure their effectiveness.
Conduct team reviews and appraisals.
Ensure team members maintain good working relationships with internal and external customers and can identify business opportunities for the whole company.
Authorise, plan, and monitor absences and holidays
Recruitment of departmental staff
Dealing with Disciplinary and Grievances with team members
Monitor, track and authorise travel expenses of team member
Carry out regular training needs analysis of team to determine training requirements
Deliver training to team members
Assist and ensure the professional development of the team

General
To ensure security of company assets

Co-operate with all staff to achieve a healthy and safe workplace and reporting any risks identified, at the company’s or other premises, to the designated Health and Safety Officer.
Other duties that may be identified from time to time by the Company.

Person Specification

Experience & Qualifications
Assessor qualification or equivalent
IQA qualification or equivalent
Proven experience in an educational quality role
Experience of delivering training and support
Experience of data analysis and producing reports
3 years of Management / Supervisory experience
Experience of developing, implementing, and managing quality assurance processes.
Experience of co-ordinating EQA visits
Understanding of Estyn and Ofsted Inspections

Fluent Welsh Speaker

Knowledge
Safeguarding and Prevent knowledge and understanding.
Knowledge of the key principles of quality
In depth knowledge of Apprenticeship and JGW+ programmes including framework requirements, IQA processes and assessment methods.
Knowledge of the Education and Skills Funding Agency
In depth knowledge of Awarding Organisation requirements
In depth knowledge of Estyn/Ofsted Inspection requirements
