Quality Assurance Manager - Heavy Steel Fabrication

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the quality assurance program across fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Oversee inspections, testing procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with customer specs and industry codes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME).
• Interface with third-party inspectors, clients, and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain and improve internal quality systems and audits (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
• Supervise quality control inspectors and welding personnel.
• Review and approve manufacturing documentation such as ITPs, WPSs, and material traceability records.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues, including NCRs and root cause analyses.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production quality and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in quality management within a steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS, ASME, and ISO quality standards.
• Hands-on experience with welding inspection and NDT processes.
• Familiarity with reading complex fabrication drawings and technical specs.
• Certification preferred: CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), ASQ Certified Quality Manager, or similar.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
