Salary: £55,000 - £75,000 + 25 Days Annual leave

About:
Dome Group are continuing to grow their presence across the UK and are looking for an experienced QA / Resident Engineer to join our team on a major development in Cardiff.

The project is a landmark hotel and live music arena development, bringing together hospitality, entertainment and large-scale event infrastructure. With the complexity and profile of the scheme, this is an opportunity for an experienced QA professional to play a genuinely important role in the successful delivery of the project.

The Role

As QA / Resident Engineer, you will act as a key quality and technical presence on the project, working closely with the client, consultants, contractors and wider project team.

You'll be responsible for ensuring works are delivered to the required quality, specification and programme, while proactively identifying issues and helping the project team achieve a successful handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out regular site inspections and monitoring construction and installation works

*

Ensuring works comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and relevant standards

*

Reviewing quality documentation, inspection records, test certificates and handover information

*

Identifying defects, non-conformances and quality issues and driving their resolution

*

Raising and managing NCRs and ensuring corrective actions are properly closed out

*

Working closely with contractors and subcontractors to maintain high standards of workmanship

*

Liaising with design, engineering, project management and commissioning teams

*

Attending site and project meetings and providing clear updates on quality performance

*

Supporting the implementation and management of project quality plans and inspection & test plans

*

Maintaining accurate quality records throughout the project lifecycle

*

Supporting testing, commissioning and final handover

*

Acting as a key interface between the client, consultants and delivery teams

About You

We're looking for someone who takes pride in the quality of their work and is confident operating within a demanding project environment.

You'll ideally have:

Proven experience as a QA Engineer, Quality Manager, Resident Engineer or similar

*

Experience within construction, MEP or building services

*

Experience working on major commercial, hospitality, leisure, entertainment or complex building projects

*

Strong knowledge of construction quality processes and documentation

*

Experience managing NCRs, defects, inspections and quality close-out

*

The ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and project documentation

*

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

*

A relevant technical qualification such as HNC/HND, degree, NVQ or equivalent

*

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and formal quality management systems

*

A proactive approach and the confidence to challenge issues and drive quality standards
