Quality Assurance Officer

York – Hybrid Working

Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

Hours: 35 Hours per week

MAIN PURPOSE:

To support delivery of the Quality Assurance Team strategy by providing specialist support with production of compliance reports, themed analysis, and management information to inform decision-making. The post-holder will be a risk system champion for the organisation, supporting governance, compliance, and quality improvement activity.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To produce and distribute monthly performance & quality reports to provide management information to inform organisational decision making, this includes Service Risk Profile Matrix and KPI reports for Quality, Performance & Risk (QPR), Directors and Trustee Committee Meetings.
• To review and action serious incident, allegation, complaint, and whistleblowing notifications in a timely and efficient manner in line with Brainkind processes. This will include liaising with relevant leads, initiating the correct level of investigation and provide updates through escalations and report production.
• To work in partnership with QABP, Service & Regional Managers and provide tailored Service data reports to support themed analysis and learning for quality improvements and safety for People we support & Staff.
• To provide specialist technical advice and guidance in relation to the use of the risk management system and associated policies and procedures as a risk system champion.
• To action technical Datix system administration requests through the Datix helpdesk including allocation of Datix user permissions ensuring unfamiliar staff are set up and added to correct profiles and leavers records are reviewed and transferred before accounts are deactivated. Re-setting of staff passwords and amending access permissions in line with role and organisation changes.
• To facilitate the confidential management of incoming communications to the Whistleblowing Mailbox during office hours, ensuring that communications are handled sensitively and confidentially. This includes escalation to Directors, facilitating the investigation process, providing progress updates, and managing records.
• To provide risk system navigation for meetings as and when required and occasional support to take and circulate confidential minutes for whistleblowing and investigation meetings.
• To develop and maintain the quality and risk management system learning and resources along with signposting staff to the relevant information within the Datix learning and resources page on connect.
• To run complex reports, analyse data and highlight significant trends or concerns to relevant leads to support quality improvement, decision making and monitoring performance against KPI’s.
• To support Quality management activities through the production of service specific and performance data analysis reports
• To Deputise for line manager as and when required. Including meeting attendance and support for the QA Administrator.
• To undertake, any reasonable travelling requirements, to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role and have the occasional overnight stay.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, SUPERVISION AND TRAINING

• Participate in regular support and supervision from line management.
• Continuously develop professional knowledge and expertise, attending and participating in learning and development events, meetings, conferences, and events (as requested/approved by line management) to ensure up to date knowledge relevant to the role.
• Attend and participate in regular team and other meetings, both internal and external

• The post holder will be expected, always, to be familiar and comply with the written policies, procedures, and guidelines for good practice, issued by Brainkind.
• Ensure the Health & Safety policy and procedures are always adhered to.
• Take personal responsibility for own health and safety and report incidents and potential hazards, as necessary.
