Quality Control Associate / Location: Basingstoke, RG24 /Salary £14.14 per hour / Full time 35 hrs Monday to Friday
We're recruiting for Quality control Associate, for a leading global innovator in science and healthcare. This is your chance to be part of meaningful work that directly supports progress in cancer research, environmental protection, and food safety
As a Quality Control Associate, you'll ensure that media products meet high standards of quality and consistency before they are released into clinical, laboratory, and industrial applications.
Responsibilities:
Conduct QC testing to company specifications, including Level 1-3 methods Prepare media and support investigations into out-of-specification results Keep accurate training records and follow regulatory procedures Plan and manage testing timelines and updates for customer service teams Record data using SAP Quality Management System Maintain lab operations including cleaning, autoclave use, and waste management Adhere to Quality System processes and safety practices Collaborate with departments including QC, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Production, and Planning Follow testing priorities as directed by senior staff Engage in continuous improvement using PPI lean methodology Comply with Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines
Qualifications:
Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in Microbiology or related discipline - students and qualified by experience (QBE) also considered Strong organisational and planning skills with a detail-oriented, methodical approach Results-driven mindset with clear prioritisation and goal-setting abilities Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and accurately interpret methods Hands-on experience with microbiology QC testing and basic lab techniques (e.g., pipetting, pouring plates, swabbing) Calm and structured working style, especially under pressure Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office tools Skilled in troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis Excellent communication and teamwork skills
