Job Description - Quality Control Technician

CMM Inspector

Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 (inc shift)
Overtime: Paid at 1.5
Location: Basingstoke
Hours: Rotating Shifts: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm (Mon-Fri)

At Syntech Recruitment, we work closely with high-precision manufacturers who are leaders in their sectors—from aerospace to medical. Our client, a trusted name in engineered solutions, is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join their expert team in Basingstoke.

CMM Inspector responsibilities:

Perform detailed inspection of parts using manual and automated tools (CMM, VMM, micrometers, gauges).
Support New Product Development (NPD) with inspections and reporting.
Write and maintain accurate inspection reports with clear pass/fail criteria.
Liaise with technical teams to resolve quality issues and provide feedback.
Assist with CAPA investigations and support internal/external audits.
Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gauge R&R.
Support calibration activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

CMM Inspector requirements:

Minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline or strong proven QC/QA experience.
Confident with GD&T and using metrology equipment.
Experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Skilled in report writing and documentation.
Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Desirable:

HND in Engineering.
Programming or advanced use of CMM/VMM systems.
Exposure to Six Sigma tools (Yellow/Green Belt).
