Job Description - Quality Control Technician


CMM Inspector

  • Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 (inc shift)
  • Overtime: Paid at 1.5
  • Location: Basingstoke
  • Hours: Rotating Shifts: 6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm (Mon-Fri)

At Syntech Recruitment, we work closely with high-precision manufacturers who are leaders in their sectors—from aerospace to medical. Our client, a trusted name in engineered solutions, is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join their expert team in Basingstoke.

CMM Inspector responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed inspection of parts using manual and automated tools (CMM, VMM, micrometers, gauges).
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) with inspections and reporting.
  • Write and maintain accurate inspection reports with clear pass/fail criteria.
  • Liaise with technical teams to resolve quality issues and provide feedback.
  • Assist with CAPA investigations and support internal/external audits.
  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA), including Gauge R&R.
  • Support calibration activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
CMM Inspector requirements:
  • Minimum HNC in an Engineering discipline or strong proven QC/QA experience.
  • Confident with GD&T and using metrology equipment.
  • Experienced in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Skilled in report writing and documentation.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Desirable:
  • HND in Engineering.
  • Programming or advanced use of CMM/VMM systems.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma tools (Yellow/Green Belt).
