Job Description - Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician
  • Annual Salary: £14.15 - £16.50 per hour (weekly paid, based on skill level and experience)
  • Location: To be specified
  • Job Type: Full-time, alternating shift pattern

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our Quality/Metrology department. As an AS9100 accredited company, the primary focus will be on the inspection of Aerospace products, with additional responsibilities in the Defence, Oil & Gas, and Medical industries.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct first-off, patrol, and final inspection of precision and complex machined components, sample inspection, and visual acceptance.
  • Operate and program CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), specifically Aberlink CMM and Micro-Vu Vision systems, with full training provided if necessary.
  • Read and understand complex engineering drawings, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Utilise metrology equipment such as Micrometers, Calipers, and Height Gauges.
  • Compile detailed inspection reports, with knowledge of AS9102 Rev B FAIR’s being advantageous.
  • Apply basic understanding of SPC (Statistical Process Control), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and/or Six Sigma quality tools.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Quality Assurance & Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry.
  • Understanding of AS9100 standards.
  • Proficiency in CMM operations and programming; experience with Aberlink and Micro-Vu Vision systems preferred.
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience with various metrology tools.
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Experience in compiling inspection reports.
  • Knowledge of quality control processes and methodologies.

Working Hours:
  • Days: 7:00am to 3:30pm, Monday to Thursday; 7:00am to 1:00pm on Friday (No premium)
  • Lates: 3:30pm to 1:30am, Monday to Thursday (4 days) – 25% premium
