Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:00am–4:30pm; Friday, 8:00am–2:00pm
Location: Barnsley

We are recruiting an experienced and proactive Quality Controller to join a well-established manufacturing business operating within a heavy industrial environment.

This is a hands-on shopfloor role for a Quality Controller who can lead from the front, maintain high quality standards, and support a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, support and develop a small quality team
Deliver training and guidance to new starters
Work hands-on within a heavy industrial shopfloor environment
Carry out quality checks and inspections throughout the manufacturing process
Ensure quality procedures and standards are consistently followed
Support continuous improvement and help resolve quality-related issues
Maintain and develop quality documentation and processes
Work with and effectively use the company’s management system
Ensure compliance with relevant ISO standards

About You

The successful Quality Controller will have:

Previous experience in a Quality Controller or similar quality-focused role
Experience of managing or supervising a small team
The ability to train and support new starters
A hands-on approach and confidence working on a busy shopfloor
Experience within heavy industry or a manufacturing environment
Good working knowledge of relevant ISO standards and quality systems
Confidence using a management system to record, monitor and manage quality information
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of quality standards
